The Earl of Sandwich, whoever he actually was, deserves mad, mad props. He created something that was incredibly simple and incredibly delicious. He, or more likely his servant, took some bread and put some stuff in it! Absolutely inspired. These days we each eat approximately a million sandwiches a month. But most of them are poor imitations of the Scooby Snacks we lusted over while watching Cartoon Network. We’ve scoured the internet (first page of Google only, betches) to find some of the best sandwiches you can possibly make at home.

Toasted Brown Butter and Nutella Croissant Sandwiches

Yeah. Wow. We love sandwiches that utilise butter-rich croissants as the base and this isn’t any different. Add Nutella and brown sugar to the mix and we’re in type-II heaven.

Huevos rancheros is a Mexican dish that literally translates as ‘bro, this is ridiculously effin delicious’. How can anyone not love a combination of muffin, refried beans, guacamole, bacon and unctuous runny egg yoigmmggkgo? Sorry, we meant egg yolk, but we accidentally got drool on the keyboard.

This one goes out to our vegetarian brethren. You know what the meatiest vegetable is? Aubergine. You know what the meatiest cheese is? Halloumi. You know what will help you maintain your vegetarianism for another few months? This mf sandwich! So much umami it’ll make you say oh mummy!

We know. We saved the best to last. We love French bread. We love Boursin. We only sort of like rib-eye steaks. ONLY KIDDING. We love them all, and this lovely triumvirate makes us want to take up steak as a full-time religion. Who wants to join us?
