Have you ever wondered what the great historical icons of yesteryear would look like if they were around today? No, I don’t mean what they would look like if they were hundreds of years old. But rather, what would they look like if they were at the height of their ‘fame’ in 2015?
That’s exactly the question Lone Wolf magazine set out to answer. With the help of some Photoshop magic, of course. And the results are really quite spectacular. Historical figures from James Dean to Nefertiti the Queen of Egypt are given a 21st century makeover, with hair, outfits and make-up that wouldn’t look out of place in your best mate’s Facebook profile picture. And, taken out of the context of history, it allows us to get a sense of just what kind of person they really were.
Have a look for yourself here:
James Dean (1931-55)
An American icon from the 1950s, James Dean’s look was all about the denim, pompadour hairstyle and moody eyes. His 21st-century updated version has the same kind of laid-back vibe, just with added tattoos and a tighter hairstyle. In fact, he looks pretty familiar…Robert Pattinson crossed with James Franco, anyone?
Annie Oakley (1860-1926)
Annie Oakley was an American sharpshooter who worked for years with Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Her updated modern-day photo could easily be mistaken for a modelling shot – and the top knot hairstyle was practically made for her dainty features.
Marie Antoinette (1755-1793)
Huh. Who knew. Apparently, 18th-Century Marie Antoinette would have looked like an Urban Outfitters model were she around today.
